Tent banner sizes

Long, narrow strips for a pop-up canopy valance. Every tent banner is one foot tall, so the ratio matches the length — a 1'×8' is 8:1. Expect a second attempt from your AI tool, since that extreme width is what trips most of them up.

        • Do not stretch, squash, distort, or simply crop the original design.
        • Keep the logo and illustrations proportional.
        • Extend the background completely to all four edges.
        • Keep important text and logos at least 0.5 inch from every finished edge.
        • This artwork is a vehicle door magnet with rounded corners. Keep all text and logos at least 1 inch inside every edge and out of the corners.
        • Use high-contrast colors and heavy type weights so the message is readable from a moving vehicle.
        • Maintain balanced spacing and make all text readable from a distance.
        • Do not add, remove, rewrite, or duplicate any design elements.

        OUTPUT REQUIREMENTS:
        • Create flat printable artwork only.
        • Do not create a mockup.
        • No grommets, hems, folds, shadows, walls, stands, hanging hardware, perspective, people, or surrounding scene.
        • No bleed, crop marks, measurement labels, or white space outside the artwork.
        • Export as a high-quality PDF or PNG.

If you cannot generate exactly 2,700 × 1,800 pixels, create the design at the highest available resolution using an exact 3:2 aspect ratio so it can be scaled proportionally to 18″ × 12″ without distortion.
Return only the completed flat artwork.

Getting a clean result

Attach the best file you have

A screenshot of a design comes back looking like a screenshot. Start from the original PDF, PNG or JPG.

Check the spelling in the output

AI tools re-draw text. Read every word before you upload — we print files exactly as they're sent to us.

Ask for one change at a time

If the layout isn't right, reply with a single instruction like "move the logo left and enlarge the phone number" instead of restating the whole prompt.

Smaller output still works

If your tool caps at 4K, the aspect ratio is what matters. A correctly proportioned file scales up cleanly for large format.

Flat artwork, not a mockup

No grommets, shadows, walls or people. The prompt says this already — re-send that line if a mockup comes back.

Banner size questions, answered

What size is a 3' × 6' banner in pixels?

A 3' × 6' banner is 72 inches wide by 36 inches tall. At 150 DPI that is 10,800 × 5,400 pixels, and the aspect ratio is 2:1. At 100 DPI it is 7,200 × 3,600 pixels, which still prints cleanly at normal viewing distance.

What DPI should a vinyl banner be?

150 DPI at full size is the sweet spot for large-format printing and is what we recommend. 100 DPI is fine on very large banners viewed from a distance, and anything above 200 DPI just makes the file bigger without a visible improvement on vinyl.

Does the aspect ratio matter more than the pixel count?

For large-format printing, yes. A file at the correct aspect ratio scales up cleanly, while a file at the wrong ratio has to be stretched or cropped. If your AI tool caps out below the pixel target, an exactly proportioned smaller file is still usable.

What size should a tent banner file be?

A 1' × 8' tent banner is 96 inches wide by 12 inches tall, and a 1' × 9' is 108 inches by 12 inches. Every tent banner is one foot tall, so the aspect ratio matches the length in feet: 8:1 for a 1' × 8', 9:1 for a 1' × 9'. The full range from 1' × 4' to 1' × 20' is in the tent size chart on this page.

What size are your yard signs?

18 inches by 24 inches is the standard, available either way up: 24 inches wide by 18 tall, or 18 wide by 24 tall. A larger 24 by 36 inch size is available in both orientations too. All yard signs print double-sided with metal stakes included.

Do I need to add bleed to my banner artwork?

No. Bleed is not required on our banners, yard signs, magnets or stands. Just keep important text and logos about half an inch inside every edge so nothing lands in a hem or grommet.

Can I set this up in Canva?

Yes. Set your Canva document to the exact finished size, export as PDF Print, and import any logo as a PDF rather than a PNG — PNG logos come in distorted. The vector version of your logo gives the best print quality.

Will AI-generated artwork actually print well?

It can, with two checks. Read every word in the output, because AI tools redraw text and can change spelling. And look closely at logos and small type at full size. We print files exactly as they are uploaded, so what you send is what ships.

How banner sizes and pixel dimensions work

A banner size is a physical measurement, not a pixel count. To turn one into artwork you multiply the inches by the resolution you're printing at. A 4' × 8' banner is 96 inches wide by 48 inches tall, so at 150 DPI the file works out to 14,400 × 7,200 pixels. The same banner at 100 DPI is 9,600 × 4,800 pixels, and both print well because a banner is read from several feet away rather than held in the hand.

What matters more than the raw pixel count is the aspect ratio. A 2' × 4' and a 3' × 6' banner are both 2:1, so the same layout drops into either one without distortion. A 1' × 8' tent banner is 8:1, which is a completely different shape — a design built for a 2:1 banner has to be rearranged, not squashed, to work there. That rearranging is exactly what the prompts on this page instruct an AI tool to do: move the elements around to suit the new proportions while leaving the logo, wording and colors untouched.

Every size on this page is one we actually print in Franklin, Wisconsin, on 13oz scrim vinyl, corrugated plastic or 30mil magnetic stock depending on the product. Bleed isn't required on any of them. Keep important text and logos about half an inch inside every edge, upload a PDF where you can, and your order goes into production the next business day with free overnight shipping to all 50 states.
